Tried and tested worldwide – the hugely popular Zodias is part of Shimano’s exclusive JDM series and has been developed for predator anglers who demand more from their tackle. With its striking Stealth Matt finish and unmistakable Japanese design, this rod series opens up a wide range of possibilities for precise and controlled fishing for pike, perch, zander and other predators. Originally designed in Japan for bass fishing, the new Zodias has been specifically refined to deliver even greater performance in freshwater spin fishing. The improved balance and reduced weight are immediately noticeable, allowing for longer, fatigue-free fishing with precise lure control. The Zodias series is based on Shimano’s proven Hi-Power X Carbon technology, which reduces blank twisting, improves casting accuracy and enables optimal power transfer throughout the entire rod. The result is greater casting distance, better control and precise lure control – even with thin braided line. It enables powerful strikes and control when using large spinnerbaits, whilst also enhancing sensitivity and precision when vertical jigging or making long casts with soft lures. Every detail is designed with functionality in mind. The lightweight CI4+ reel seat harmonises perfectly with the Carbon Monocoque handle to ensure maximum sensitivity and transmit even the finest vibrations directly to the hand.

The low weight ensures comfortable handling over long periods, whilst the secure reel seat and direct feedback are essential for detecting subtle bites in deeper or flowing water. At the same time, the rod offers precise control when aggressively working twitchbaits or jerks. The matt finish on the blank further reduces weight, whilst smaller Fuji Alconite guides with optimised spacing ensure balanced handling, maximum line protection and smooth casting with thin braided line. Through the combination of modern design, precise regular and fast-action tapers and advanced carbon technology, the Zodias delivers performance that significantly exceeds its price range.

Available in 4 casting and 9 spinning models, the series covers the entire spectrum – from delicate finesse techniques for perch and zander to powerful models for fishing with larger lures for pike and asp.
