Shimano Catana FE 1000 FE
This Catana represents the latest evolution of a true Shimano classic. It offers exceptional value for money and is suitable for virtually any freshwater application. When it comes to searching the market for a superb value fixed spool reel for spin fishing, there’s simply no getting around the Catana. Perfectly suited to a wide range of fishing methods, from light to medium spin fishing right through to match and feeder fishing. Understated in appearance. Impressive in performance. You simply can’t get more reel for less money! Paired with a Shimano rod from the lower or mid-price range, it creates a combination that every owner can be proud to own.
When in use, you immediately notice the balance achieved by the G-Free Body. This body design is usually found on higher-priced reels. Naturally, it also makes fishing with Shimano’s low-budget reel less tiring. The smooth running is down to the 3 Shimano stainless steel ball bearings and the ball bearing in the line roller, which also ensures that everything runs smoothly when fighting big fish. The aluminium spool has been given an AR-C design upgrade, a feature usually found in the high-end segment.
Together with Varispeed II, this spool design ensures more accurate and longer casts – with both monofilament and braided line. The biggest challenge is probably deciding on a model. There are 7 models, including several HG high-speed variants. It starts with the 1000 series for light finesse fishing. The top end of the range is marked by the 4000, which is perfect for heavy spin fishing or feeder fishing. Whichever Catana you choose – every model guarantees maximum fishing enjoyment and many hours of fatigue-free fishing.
