Zeck Dundee (Murky Beast)
Zeck developed the Dundee in close collaboration with Uli Beyer. It features an action that is highly enticing to pike. Of course, you can also use this wobbler to catch zander, catfish, and even saltwater predators. Thanks to its through-shank design, the Dundee is extremely durable. For catfish or saltwater fishing, however, you should use stronger treble hooks. Zeck’s super-sharp Lure Trebles, which come pre-mounted, should be your first choice for pike fishing. Uli Beyer has also fallen in love with these hooks and, whenever possible, no longer uses any other treble hooks. You can simply reel the Dundee in steadily. However, the action becomes even more enticing when you incorporate spin stops. Since it hovers, it more or less stays in place during these pauses. Of course, you can also twitch the Dundee. A varied fishing approach usually yields the greatest success. The Dundee is equipped with a magnetic long-cast system. When casting, a weight guided by an axle flies to the end of the lure, ensuring extreme casting distances. After hitting the water’s surface, the magnet pulls the weight back to its starting position in the front section of the lure. Unlike cheaper “ball-style long-cast systems,” this produces absolutely no noise while retrieving the lure. This makes the Dundee extremely effective even in heavily fished waters. Already during the testing phase, several personal bests were broken with the Dundee prototypes at Zeck. Pike measuring 118, 121, and 125 cm found their way into the landing net.
