The Westin Float Rig is a ready-to-fish single treble hook rig for float fishing with smaller dead bait fish. It has been designed for a particularly clean, inconspicuous bait presentation and also makes unhooking easier, making it ideal for situation-specific pike fishing in heavily fished waters.

Construction and hooks
Made from 30 lb, 7-strand steel wire, the rig offers reliable protection against sharp pike teeth while remaining flexible enough to allow the bait fish to move naturally. Camouflaged ferrules secure the connections and ensure a discreet appearance underwater. The rig is equipped with an extra-strong, ultra-sharp single treble hook, which is specially designed for smaller bait fish under the float. The single hook construction allows for precise placement on the bait and makes unhooking much easier and more controlled compared to multiple treble hook systems.

Use under the float
The Float Rig is designed for presenting dead bait fish under the float, for example when drift fishing, along weed edges or in front of reed beds. The slim design ensures that the bait sits naturally in the water without being affected by excessive weight or volume. The rig really comes into its own with smaller bait fish, as it does not ‘overpower’ the bait and allows for a delicate, low-resistance presentation. This makes it particularly suitable for shallow water areas and fishing in mid-water, where cautious pike react sensitively to unnatural-looking rigs.
