Shimano Ultegra XSE XTE 14000
The Ultegra XTE and XSE are based on Shimano’s best-selling models and are set to redefine the market for mid-range Big Pit reels. With their slim body, packed with Shimano’s exclusive long-casting technologies, these reels will exceed expectations and become bestsellers across Europe. Only Shimano offers Super Slow Oscillation, which alone is reason enough to buy the Ultegra XTE and XSE. Add to that all the other technologies that make these ‘Long Range’ superstars shine, and it becomes impossible to ignore these reels. Not only do these reels enable greater casting distances, they also deliver better performance during the fight, are more durable and look great on any rod.

Any carp angler who prefers a black Stealth design simply cannot overlook the XTE version. For surf anglers and those who prefer lighter-coloured designs, the silver XSE version should be the first choice. Whichever version you choose, you’re sure to make a good choice. Inside the lightweight and torsion-resistant CI4+ body lies an arsenal of Shimano’s most advanced technologies. HAGANE Gear and X-SHIP, combined with Infinity Drive and Silent Drive, ensure astonishingly smooth running and effortless rotation. However, don’t be fooled by this. Under load, the Ultegra generates more power than is required. And whilst the internal gear technology resembles a work of art, it is ultimately the casting performance that will win you over.

The Super Slow 5 Oscillation ensures an astonishingly clean and smooth line lay, which has been proven to reduce friction and increase maximum casting distance. Yet the other features also make a decisive contribution to the overall performance. Rigid Cast reduces spool movement during the cast, and thanks to the Parallel Body, the line flies through the guide at the perfect angle. And as the line flies over the edge of the aluminium AR-C spool, the loops become smaller to further reduce friction. The result is casting performance that is unique in this price segment.

Safety instructions:

“ - Handle hooks with care: Always cover the fishing hooks or remove them from the rods for transportation. Use corks or hook covers to avoid accidental injury.
- Keep your distance: Fish at least 10 meters away from others to avoid accidents. Watch out for people behind you before casting. Be careful with carbon fiber: Carbon fiber rods are strong but can be brittle. Avoid dropping them or banging them against hard surfaces as this can cause damage.
- Safe transportation: Always take your rod apart and place it in a protective cover during transportation to prevent damage from external influences.
- Carbon fiber rods conduct electricity. Do not use them during thunderstorms or near power lines.
- Never try to pull lures or leaders out of trees or bushes by applying pressure to the rod and fishing line. This can result in the bait/lead being catapulted towards the angler. Use only your hands to free the bait/lead.

- Train beginners: Instruct children and beginners in the safe handling of rods and hooks to minimize risks.
- Safety distance: Always keep a distance of at least six meters from high-voltage power lines when carrying or using fishing rods.
- Avoid high sticking: Do not bend your rod too much while you are drilling a fish, which is known as “high sticking. Hold the rod at a maximum loading angle of 45 to 60 degrees to avoid breakage.
- Aligning the rod for snags: If your lure snags, keep the rod pointed at the hook while walking backwards to reduce the strain on the rod.
- Be careful with carbon fiber: Carbon fiber rods are strong but can be brittle. Avoid dropping them or banging them against hard surfaces as this can cause damage.
- Safe transportation: Always take your rod apart and place it in a protective cover during transportation to prevent damage from external influences.
