Shimano Beastmaster XC XC 14000
The Beastmaster 14000 is Shimano’s most affordable big-pit reel and is ideal for beginners or budget-conscious carp and surf anglers. Featuring technologies borrowed directly from more expensive Shimano reels, such as Super Slow 5 Oscillation and Parallel Body, the Beastmaster is an excellent long-range reel. With a name like Beastmaster, you can be sure that this large and robust long-range reel will live up to expectations. The Beastmaster offers excellent value for money and is a good option for anyone new to long-range fishing over great distances, or for those looking for a second reel for carp or surf fishing. Although the Beastmaster cannot compete with the more expensive and technically advanced high-end reels, it scores highly in terms of appearance with the same G-Free Body silhouette used on Shimano’s top models.
Thanks to Super Slow 5 Oscillation line lay and Parallel Body technology, even inexperienced anglers can achieve impressive casting distances. Although the Beastmaster is Shimano’s most affordable Big-Pit reel, it still incorporates several advanced technologies. The Super Slow 5 Oscillation line lay remains the benchmark against which other reels are measured, and the AR-C spool features exactly the same design as that used in Shimano’s best long-range reels. Both features help to improve casting distance. In practice, you will appreciate the smoothness and power of the HAGANE Gear system, whilst the 4.3:1 gear ratio, which retrieves 103cm of line per turn of the handle, ensures that the Beastmaster performs just as well during fast retrieval as it does when casting. To maintain direct control at all times during the fight, the braking force of the powerful Instant Drag (max. 20kg braking force) can be precisely adjusted with just a minimal turn.

Safety instructions:
“ - Handle hooks with care: Always cover the fishing hooks or remove them from the rods for transportation. Use corks or hook covers to avoid accidental injury.
- Keep your distance: Fish at least 10 meters away from others to avoid accidents. Watch out for people behind you before casting. Be careful with carbon fiber: Carbon fiber rods are strong but can be brittle. Avoid dropping them or banging them against hard surfaces as this can cause damage.
- Safe transportation: Always take your rod apart and place it in a protective cover during transportation to prevent damage from external influences.
- Carbon fiber rods conduct electricity. Do not use them during thunderstorms or near power lines.
- Never try to pull lures or leaders out of trees or bushes by applying pressure to the rod and fishing line. This can result in the bait/lead being catapulted towards the angler. Use only your hands to free the bait/lead.
- Train beginners: Instruct children and beginners in the safe handling of rods and hooks to minimize risks.
- Safety distance: Always keep a distance of at least six meters from high-voltage power lines when carrying or using fishing rods.
- Avoid high sticking: Do not bend your rod too much while you are drilling a fish, which is known as “high sticking. Hold the rod at a maximum loading angle of 45 to 60 degrees to avoid breakage.
- Aligning the rod for snags: If your lure snags, keep the rod pointed at the hook while walking backwards to reduce the strain on the rod.
- Be careful with carbon fiber: Carbon fiber rods are strong but can be brittle. Avoid dropping them or banging them against hard surfaces as this can cause damage.
- Safe transportation: Always take your rod apart and place it in a protective cover during transportation to prevent damage from external influences.
