The reel has a durable metal body that ensures ultra smooth gear running. Wherever metal has to be used, it has been used, but weight-optimized. The Reel Engine Design 2.0 - RED for short - ensures silky smooth running and optimum line laying - even with ultra-thin braided lines. The rotor consists of a composite of aerospace plastic and long carbon fibres (approx. 10 mm), which is extremely difficult to process, but achieves incredible strength. In addition, the smoke shines with a so-called braid band. This means a specially made rubber ring on the spool, which allows an immediate winding of braid without having to spool a feeding cord on the spool core. The braid sits securely on the rubber so that slippage is completely impossible.
