Born from nights on the bank
The SPORTEX X CARPY was created through close collaboration between SPORTEX and Peter, Marian and Maurice from the “Carpy Podcast”, drawing on countless nights on the bank and real world carp fishing. Together they defined which properties a carp rod truly needs when used week in, week out and which extras can be left out. The result is a focused rod concept that puts practical performance and reliability clearly above gimmicks.
Casting power with fighting control
The Carpy combines a strong backbone with a sensitive tip and a medium fast action, allowing the blank to load smoothly and transfer energy efficiently into the cast. At the same time, the tip remains forgiving enough to cushion sudden lunges and maintain solid hook holds throughout the fight. This balance makes the rod feel controlled and confidence inspiring, whether punching out leads or playing big carp close to the net.
One rod for many scenarios
With two tip options – 11 ft / 2.75 lb for agile handling from the boat or in tight swims and 12 ft / 3.0 lb for demanding long distance casting – the Carpy covers a wide range of carp fishing situations. Anglers can quickly switch between both setups to match venue size, casting distance or obstacle pressure without changing the overall feel of the rod. From small gravel pits to large open waters, the Carpy stays a versatile all round partner.
Components built for trust
A FUJI DPS reel seat keeps big pit reels firmly in place and transmits feedback directly into the blank. Lightweight Seaguide Minima guides with a SIC stripper guide support fast line flow and maintain a slim overall profile without adding unnecessary weight. The classic shrink tube handle with its characteristic “trumpet” butt cap provides extra grip and control, especially with wet hands and during prolonged, demanding fights.
