Free spool reel with additional features
The Space Runner BT I is a modern free spool reel from Matze Koch, with an electronic bite indicator integrated directly into the reel body. This eliminates the need for additional separate beepers, swingers or bells, reducing the amount of tackle required and perfectly complementing Matze's uncomplicated ‘rod in the grass’ style.
Integrated bite indicator & power supply
For the best possible bite indication, point the rod straight at the bait so that any movement in the free spool is immediately converted into a signal. The electronics work with an integrated rechargeable battery, which is charged via a supplied USB C cable; to do this, simply remove the small clip-on cube with the unit from the reel, while the assembled rod can remain in place. If desired, the reel can also be used completely without electronics, like a classic free spool reel.
Bluetooth, app & anti-theft protection
After switching on, the roller beeper automatically connects via Bluetooth to the free Balzer Connect app, which is available for Android and iOS and can manage up to eight compatible Balzer Bluetooth devices simultaneously. The app allows you to configure the volume, various alarm tones, vibration alarm and a switchable torch function; the reel and app volume can be adjusted separately so that the alarm on the reel can remain silent while only the mobile phone alerts you – including theft protection, which triggers an alarm if the reel leaves the reception area.
Reel technology & features
Technically, the Space Runner BT I offers five precision ball bearings plus one needle bearing, a finely adjustable Balzer free spool system and a powerful brake with extra-large brake discs. S Hub system for drop-optimised line lay, Anti Swing System against unwanted vibrations, Anti Twist line roller, Strong Bail bracket made of lightweight aluminium, aluminium long-cast spool and a screw-on aluminium handle round off the package and allow for either left- or right-handed operation.
