Zeck Blade Shaker (Holo Shad)

The Blade Shaker is a classic blade bait (or cicada) developed in collaboration with Uli Beyer. Uli has been successfully fishing with this type of lure—which can be cast incredibly far—for over 30 years. Together with him, Zeck has now designed a lead-free cicada that meets Uli’s specifications 100%. The retrieve is really child’s play. In principle, a simple reel-in is all it takes. The speed can vary depending on the spot and the season. Fast speed jigging in open water can also be successful. However, you should avoid classic jigging over the bottom, because the Blade Shaker simply works best under tension. If you want to fish close to the bottom, you can also let the lure “sink” to the bottom during the “sinking phase” under light tension by using different retrieve speeds. But even when worked near the surface, the Blade Shaker is extremely effective. Its strong vibrations make predatory fish really aggressive. We deliberately chose to use only a single treble hook. This allows you to work the Blade Shaker extremely close to the bottom, which can be very effective. Due to its fairly vertical position in the water, the nose of the Blade Shaker can repeatedly hit rocks or stir up the sand, which also drives many predatory fish wild. The body also serves as a sort of spacer between the treble hook and the bottom. A second treble hook would only cause an unnecessary number of snags and, due to the lure’s relatively small size, wouldn’t really contribute much to a better catch rate. The Blade Shaker has 4 attachment eyes. When attached at the front, the lure vibrates only slightly. You can use this front hook eye, for example, in very strong currents. The further back you attach the Blade Shaker, the more it vibrates. In calm water, for example, you can use the third hole (from the front).
