Shimano Ultegra CI4+ XTC Ci4+ XT-C/5500
The Ultegra Ci4+ XTC and XSC sit perfectly in the middle of Shimano’s Big Pit reel range and are available in 14000 and smaller 5500 sizes. The most striking feature of the Ultegra Ci4+, which is equipped with the latest long-casting technology, is its reduced weight, which helps to maximise the rod’s speed during long casts. The Ultegra Ci4+ is positioned in the mid-price range and offers excellent value for money. One glance is enough to see that this is a serious long-cast reel. With understated colours, a large spool, a compact Ci4+ composite body and some of Shimano’s best long-cast technologies, the Ultegra Ci4+ is well-equipped.
In use, you’ll appreciate its light weight, especially when pushing its maximum casting distance to the limit. The low weight allows for faster rod speeds, which, combined with other technologies, results in excellent casting distances. Inside the lightweight G FREE body lies a combination of HAGANE gearing and X-SHIP, which together ensure smooth and powerful rotation. X-Protect technology prevents water from entering the reel’s moving parts, ensuring the reel maintains its performance in all conditions. The Super Slow 5 Oscillation ensures an astonishingly smooth line lay, which has been proven to increase casting potential. Parallel Body technology ensures that the line leaves the AR-C spool at the perfect angle to the starter ring to minimise friction. Safety instructions:

- Never try to pull lures or leaders out of trees or bushes by applying pressure to the rod and fishing line. This can result in the bait/lead being catapulted towards the angler. Use only your hands to free the bait/lead.
- Train beginners: Instruct children and beginners in the safe handling of rods and hooks to minimize risks.
- Safety distance: Always keep a distance of at least six meters from high-voltage power lines when carrying or using fishing rods.
- Avoid high sticking: Do not bend your rod too much while you are drilling a fish, which is known as “high sticking. Hold the rod at a maximum loading angle of 45 to 60 degrees to avoid breakage.
- Aligning the rod for snags: If your lure snags, keep the rod pointed at the hook while walking backwards to reduce the strain on the rod.
