Zeck Rushka Hook

This hook was developed by Zeck in collaboration with VMC, based on Johannes Dietel’s specifications. Since perch fishing is the Rushka Hook’s primary application, special attention was paid to sharpness during the development phase. The wire gauge was deliberately chosen to be slightly thinner to achieve maximum sharpness. However, the hook is not too thin either. After all, the Rushka Hook should also be able to handle bycatches of large zander or even pike. It has proven this time and again during testing. The barb is quite small. Together with the “slippery” PTFE coating, this also helps the hook penetrate the fish’s mouth beautifully. A smaller barb is also perch-friendly. But don’t worry—the barb is large enough to ensure the point remains securely anchored in the mouth, even when the fish is shaking its head violently. In addition to use on Rushka and Cheburashka or Chatter and Spinner Rushka rigs, you can also use this hook for drop-shot fishing, on Carolina, Texas, Free, and Kickback rigs, for soft jerking (e.g., in combination with tungsten nail sinkers), or for numerous other applications in perch fishing. The Rushka Hook is equipped with a cast “resin knob” featuring two short, protruding pieces of fluorocarbon (these can also be trimmed to your liking). This securely fixes the rubber bait to the hook shank without damaging it or even causing it to burst open during the rigging process, as is often the case with coarser metal baitkeepers. The eye is also sealed with resin. If you tie the Rushka Hook directly to your leader using certain methods, you run no risk of the fluorocarbon or even thin steel being damaged or getting pinched at this point. The eye size has been designed so that the hook fits perfectly with Zeck’s Rushka system and can also be used with the conventional Chebu. Nevertheless, it is delicate enough that the Rushka Hook is also ideal for rigs where the hook is attached directly to the leader. The hook shank is intentionally slightly larger. This makes the Rushka Hook a versatile hook that you can combine with almost any bait shape.
