Gentle single hook leader for float rigs
The Westin Float Rig Semi Barbed is a ready-to-use steel leader for float fishing with smaller dead bait fish. It has been developed for a subtle, natural bait presentation and combines a high hook-up rate with easier handling when unhooking – particularly useful in heavily fished waters.

Construction and hook
Made from 30 lb, 7-strand steel wire, the rig provides reliable protection against pike teeth while remaining flexible enough to allow the bait fish to move naturally. Discreet camouflage ferrules secure all connections and reduce light reflection underwater. The leader features an extra-strong, ultra-sharp single hook in a semi-barbed design. The reduced barb shape ensures a secure hold during the fight, but at the same time makes it easier to release the hook and allows for controlled, gentler unhooking.

Use under the float
The Float Rig Semi Barbed is ideal for presenting small dead bait fish under the float, for example in open water, along weed edges or over shallower structures. The slim design does not overload the bait and ensures low-resistance, inconspicuous guidance. The rig really comes into its own when fishing for cautious pike in clear or heavily fished waters, where a clean presentation and sensitive bite detection are required.
